It is well documented that Tyler, the Creator is a massive fan of Toro y Moi, and it looks like the feeling is mutual (SWAG). Below, Chaz laces Tyler’s “French” a capella with his own impossibly smooth swag, effectively swagging the Bastard highlight the fuck out. Hopefully just the first of many future collabs from these two. Catch OFWGKTA + Toro y Moi at SXSW 2011. Not together, though-- or not that I know of. (Gorilla vs. Bear co-premiere)
OFWGKTA chief instigator Tyler The Creator dropped this frighteningly well-turned video for his new "Yonkers" single this morning, a track from his forthcoming Goblin LP. Directed and produced by the film school drop-out himself, this roach-infested, gratuitously violent, monochromatic nightmare should remove any doubt that he's just as adept as a silent movie-grade physical performer as he is at homegrown beats and distopian verse. In other words, he's got so much talent it's disturbing.
"Yonkers" and "Sandwitches" will be available via iTunes starting February 15th, and Goblin LP will drop this Spring. Upcoming tour dates below
02/14 Washington, DC @ U Street Music Hall
02/15 New York, NY @ Santos Partyhouse
02/17 Philadelphia, PA @ The Barbary
02/22 San Francisco, CA @ Slim's
04/15 Indio, CA @ Coachella Music Festival
James Pants says:
Tyler is one of those dudes who says bad things and gets away with it. But the raps remind of good things like Raekwon and Juicy J. Hohoho. "Bitches Brewin'" is one of my favorites from Tyler the "Ace" Creator because it's slow. Really slow-- which is what I like right now. "Fin" is another one I like. It's like the posse shout-out song from the Odd Future Tape. There's not enough posse shout songs any more, so I'm glad Tyler resurrected it. I've always wanted to do a mix-tape of only shout-outs, and I think this song is the missing link. He also shouts out my Welcome record. There's a couple other songs of mine that Tyler raps over or sampled, but I can't include them on my list. I DO have to include the magnificent Odd Future affiliate, Earl Sweatshirt as one of my favorites. No one can front on fish-lips. The video "EARL" is one of the greater pieces of cinema verite in recent years. Shout out."

Tyler, The Creator of OFWGKTA says:
Most Producers Have Their Top 5 Favorite Or Most Influential Producers. James Pants Is In My Top 5. The First TIme I Heard Shower Party I Fucking Flipped. The Shit Is Only About 40 Seconds Long, But, The Chords Just Takes Me To my Happy Place. My Favorite Song From James Pants Is Chip In The Hand (From The 2009 SEVEN SEALS Release). It Seriously Sounds Like Some Suburb Teenage Mall Background Music To Me. The Reverb On The Drums Just Makes Everything Sound So Much More Swagged Out. Kathleen Is For Sure In My Top 3 James Songs. When I First Heard This, I Was Pist Off. Simply Because I Was Thinking "Why The Fuck Can't I Make Shit As Good As This?" I Don't Know What It Sounds Like..... Nevermind, Again, It Sounds Like Some Suberb Teenage Relationship Shit, And I Fucking Love It. James Is hands Down One Of The most Creative Fucking People To Walk This Earth. Every Album Sounds Totally Different, And That Influences The Fuck Out Of Me. I Am Not A Cross Dresser.

The latest track from L.A. experimental hip-hop collective Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, "Sandwitches", cuts deep. The signature grisly imagery and raw, visceral lyrics paired with minimal yet high-impact production that have defined OFWGKTA are there, but what's most striking about "Sandwitches" is its sense of self-awareness. Their response to recent Rolling Stone dubbing Wolf Gang member Earl Sweatshirt a "Hot Horror-Core Revivalist" demands you to "listen deeper to the music before you put it in a box" and find rhyme and reason behind its violent universe.
