D Paris: 1954

Allured by the twi-lit doldrums of this bleak, busted beat from Londoner D Paris-- all monochrome and lean but with a fragility in its live-sounding snare tingles and faltering wobble that is most intriguing. There's more than a touch of our man Holy Other's hauntology here too-- mostly resonant in the uncomfortable soulfulness that pervades an almost old-timey, classical female vocal-- distant, spectral sighs fading into the red at the edges. --Jack Shankly, Transparent
