Once upon a time, Kraftwerk weren't the minimalist computer lovers we grew up with. Mark Richardson highlighted a video from a very different, pre-Autobahn era of Kraftwerk that was shot in 1971 during a transitional period while Ralf Hütter had taken a break from the band for school and guitarist Michael Rother joined as a temporary member alongside Klaus Dinger. After Hütter's sabbatical and many other line-up changes, Kraftwerk would grow to define their aestehtic, while Rother and Dinger would go on to form Neu!.
