Don't you love it when you stumble across a mixtape that makes so much sense to you, you wonder why it hadn't already taken its happy place upon your iTunes playlist column? Courtesy of the guys at Abeano Music, it seems Matt Barnes aka Forest Swords-- the visionary behind those dark, grimey electronic panoramas from way-out-- has completely read our minds, dropping one heck of a mix. Flying criminally under the radar until last year's OESB release Dagger Paths, here Forest Swords tips his hat to many of our other favourite artists from 2010. In just 20 minutes, we move seamlessly from the disparate styles of Oneohtrix Point Never's psychedelic head-bobbings, to the pensive harmonies of Women, whilst somehow ripping through some Demdike Stare and Julian Lynch along the way. Oh, and did we mention that Lil' Kim gets a run as well? When was the last time you heard Lil' Kim and Echo Lake together? --Daniel Gottlieb
