Hovering above like a Google satellite, Soothsayer, the latest project from Steve Rosborough, is a bi-lateral observation from points far beyond reach. Much like the celestial synthesis of Software and eternal dream seekers Stars of the Lid, Soothsayer's world is subtle and nuanced. Each note is a piece of a vast puzzle which coalesces in an image greater than anything the human eye could capture, which makes sense as Soothsayer's Inflow Illusion tape is made up of eleven Roman numeral titled movements. At the center lies "V", the longest piece on the release, a song that serves as not only a cross-section of the work, but also a quasi-black hole, one which leads down a dark, but somehow illuminating path.
