Brooklyn-based online magazine Impose dropped a hefty interview with the oft-reclusive jazz/lounge-rock fusionary Gary Wilson this morning, following the release of his Electric Endicott LP on Western Vinyl in November. Wilson shows some love for '60s doo-woop singer Dion, tells us how he gets ready for his outré live performances, and divulges some secrets regarding his longstanding fascination with mannequins:
"The mannequins are sort of a frozen reminder of the girls from my past. When we finish a gig I carefully place the 'girls' back into the closet. I can hear them whispering to each other when I walk past the closet. Sometimes when two or more of my 'girls' are on stage at the same time they fight with one another."
