Vermont's electronic music gurus in residence Greg Davis and Toby Aronson have joined forces in a new duo called Harmonizer. “5th World” is the 15-minute B-side of Harmonizer’s self-titled debut on Aronson’s tape label, NNA Tapes-- whose impressive catalogue and semi-circle themed cover artwork make me want everything they’ve released. Harmonizer take us on a sonic journey that begins as a distant memory, then evolves into a vivid caravan procession of sounds. Layering and looping sampled sounds and synths, Davis and Aronson create a rhythmic, yet ever-changing aural slideshow soundscape of an exotic trip long passed. --Laura Brown, International Tapes
