Full-on jangly guitar bliss from the off, Gun Outfit waste none of "Guilt and Regret"'s two minutes and six seconds. Somehow, they manage to funnel sun-speckled teenage guitar dreams into each of the enthusiastic riffs that carry Dylan Sharp’s disarmingly weary words. It’s an enticing weariness though. The vocals pull away just as the joyously thumping riffs come back in-- without a trace of irony or conceptual lip-service. It’s the sustained deployment of this pogo-ing, heartfelt rock that makes its brief stay wrenching in the very best of ways. (via 20 Jazz Funk Greats)
