Animated Art Deco might be an unlikely match for the chiptune electro that Portland's Copy has been peddling, but what could be more retro-futuristic than two retro-futurisms in one? In this video for "Breakfast", multi-disciplinary artist E*Rock abstracts the elemental geometries of your typical 1920s skyscraper and passes them through a series of eye-popping transformations. Hang on to your seats as an evocation of the Chrysler Building collapses into the subterranean engine rooms of Metropolis and is reincarnated in the triangular monoliths of Giza. Better yet, hang on to this bassline. (International Tapes co-premiere)
