Cameron Stallones of Sun Araw says:
My friend Daniel introduced me to Ron Hardy, and though this is one of his better known edits, it still spins in place out front of everything I've discovered beyond it, insistently blossoming. Chaining a single bar into an infinite stairway to the stars, the horns slowly envelope the Hayes vocal, though not the sentiment (all that "not turning around" business). The track blazes a trail without moving an inch, burning a mantric hole in space and time. That’s a life lesson. By the time he starts hustling the guitar solo through the door in wave after wave, you can't get over, can't go under. A testament of early loop culture written in ecstatic sweat. Take this bass, filter, and celebrate.
