A new website called Drinkify has been making the blog rounds over the past few days, offering music listeners beer and cocktail recommendations for your next late-night group listening sesh 'round a glowing LCD screen. We weren't all that convinced by their recommendations for legacy artists like The Smashing Pumpkins ("1 PBR") and Pink Floyd ("1 bottle Box wine"), but we're suprised by the number of lesser-known weirdos/AZ favorites that made it into the mix, from John Elliott and Mark Fell to Iceage, Julia Holter, Eric Copeland, Ayshay, and British outsider psych balladeer Nick Nicely. According to some text at the bottom of the home page, Drinkify was "created in twenty-four boozy hours by @leyink, @han, and @flaneur at Music Hack Day Boston 2011," and is "powered by The Echo Nest, Last.fm, and what’s left of our livers." Let us know if the comments section if you can figure out which algorithm Drinkify is using to "automatically [generate] the "perfect* cocktail recipe to accompany any music." In the meantime, we thought we'd share some of our favorites after the jump. --Emilie Friedlander, Altered Zones
