GNARCOTICS UNANIMOUS is the second of its kind offered up by Portland-based Gnar Tapes. Featuring just as many artists as tunes (check the headline), the comp is composed entirely of previously unreleased tracks, some of which are slated to appear on upcoming Gnar releases. UNANIMOUS' diverse trough includes syrupy hip-hop (DJ 99¢'s "H Y P N O T I Z E D (Evil Grin)"), flanging funk (White Rainbow's "Clam Digger Formal Function"), and CCR Headcleaner's fuzzed-out version of Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit."
Below are two excerpts from the comp. The first is a breezy double track by the ever-productive R. Stevie Moore, while Gnar Tapes OGs, White Fang offer what sounds like a bedroom-psych take on Television Personalities' "Diary Of A Young Man." --Mark Craig, Altered Zones
MP3: R. Stevie Moore: "What Was I Thinking About/We Love Ourselves Don't We?"
MP3: White Fang: "Shit Happens"
