Altered Zones

In "Earthscore," a new cut from Glasgow quartet Errors, bantam bass and toms set the mold. By the time its thick percussion and synth nebulas crystalize, the entrance of the song's tweaked vocals mark the first time the band uses the human voice in its seven-year career. Though given the textural use, "Earthscore" still feels like an instrumental band, recalling Cornelius or Battles over any other lyricist. "Earthscore" ends with as much assertion as it began, managing to be an impressionist pop song on the verge of chip, without being cheesy or too blithe. --Dale W. Eisinger, Altered Zones
