Way Through: "Your Hand Hold, For I Have No More"

Way Through's pastoral punk program symphony "Your Hand Hold, For I Have No More," though presented as one epic composition, is a full soundtrack made up of several distinct detours. It's part of a multimedia project for Upset the Rhythm that includes words, photos, and music in an attempt to map out their local area of Bethnal Green psychologically and geographically. But, considering it's designed for accompaniment, "Your Hand"'s patchwork of wandering loops plays out like a fantasy daydream in the midst of a seemingly typical, mundane urban reality. Pockets of warped samples and walls of heavily effected guitar/synth loops wax and wane through a varied sequence of trance-inducing images that naturally fit as one open-ended statement. --Matt Sullivan, Altered Zones
