Dead Luke: "God of Nothing"

On "God of Nothing," a cut from his recent Meanwhile… In The Midwest LP for Moon Glyph, Dead Luke declares freedom via detachment: he's got nothing to his name, and therefore nothing to lose. Amidst the celestial drone of the organ and the acoustic guitar's dedicated repetition of rock music's three best chords, his claims of worthless Godhood sound assured, even cocky. The scorching guitar solo that follows is just as direct, a fitting punctuation mark before the piece evaporates into thin air. --Matt Sullivan, Altered Zones
