Last week we dropped "Sometime," the premiere recording from Brooklyn's Dive-- a Can-inspired four-piece fronted by Beach Fossils guitarist Cole Smith. The track sounded like a decidedly grayer version of Smith's other band, with downbeat post-punk leanings and more strongly ringing guitars. Here, Beach Fossils bandmate John Pena remixes the track under his solo moniker Heavenly Beat. The result pushes "Sometime" under thick and repetitive sci-fi thuds, coldly recalling the Wierd Records aesthetic with its shuttering, mechanic drums. --Jenn Pelly, Altered Zones
