Fresh cuts from the startlingly forward-thinking Vermont-based cassette imprint NNA Tapes, this time by a fellow hailing from the other side of the Atlantic. Antwerp-based Hans Dens is Innercity (not to be confused with Innergaze), who in the words of Daniel Lopatin, “reflects biological diversity in spirit form, beautifully shifting from one amorpha to the next via repetition and mutation, like spirits basking in the Coptic glow of life before consciousness”.
See for yourself with “The Pyramids of Northeast Belgium,” a landmark that might not exist, but becomes alarmingly real in this dense yet minimal piece of electronic psychedelia. The mind-altering trip gets particularly intriguing when its straight techno beat fades in and out, adding ephemeral structure to the enticing mishmash of kraut and new age. --Henning Lahmann, No Fear of Pop
