Sony/PIAS Warehouse Burnt Down in UK Riots

In the third night of ongoing London riots, the 200,000 square-foot Sony/PIAS distribution hub in Enfield, North London was completely burned down by 4 a.m. GMT this morning.

There have been no reports of injuries, but more than 150 independent record labels-- including XL/Beggars, Warp, Rough Trade, Domino, 4AD, Sub Pop, Secretly Canadian, Jagjaguwar, Drag City, Thrill Jockey, FatCat, Kompakt, and Soul Jazz-- have lost merchandise to the flames.

In an effort to recover from their great loss, PIAS has organized a fundraiser; those wanting to get involved can donate here, or send an e-mail. --Ric Leichtung, Altered Zones via Pitchfork
