Kranky and Erased Tapes are releasing a new collaboration from Stars of the Lid's Adam Wiltzie and composer Dustin O'Halloran called A Winged Victory for the Sullen. Using a classical pallette of strings, bassoon, french horn, and clarinet with penchant for drone, this duo's more likely to geek out over vintage pianos than synthesizers, namedropping a modded Imperial Bösendorfer and a handmade Fazioli piano. Deeply emotive. --Ric Leichtung, Altered Zones
