Driphouse: "Chompers World"

Daren Ho has captivated us before with his abstract electronic compositions as Driphouse, but his recent tape on Root Strata brings piano and harpsichord to the fore. On "Chompers World," spacey, non-sequenced synth lines play around bursts of rhythmic static while the aforementioned piano plods about, creating a special strain of kosmische musik. If you concentrate, you can hear exactly where the past meets the future beyond. --Ian Pearson, Altered Zones
