On a boat more than 30 years ago, German oceanographer Jürgen Müller wrote an album of new age synth songs inspired by the North Sea. Pressing less than 100 copies and giving most of them away as freebies to peers and clients, Müller's Science of the Sea was rediscovered by Foxy Digitalis writer Jan-Arne Sohns, who had worked with a member of his Jürgen extended family. Like the unbelievable and seductively sensational story behind Dramatic Records' Endless House, the origins of Science of the Sea sound almost too good to be true. --Ric Leichtung, Altered Zones
