Mark Bradley: "White Light"

Mark Bradley keeps a pretty low profile, but if you scoot over to his discogs page, you will find that since 2008, the Portage, IN native has released well over twenty-five cassettes and CD-Rs, with another seven set for 2011. From the Goldtimers Tapes release, Spectral Electricity, we get "White Light"-- a three-minute brace of brooding atmospherics and deep, languid beats that strike right at the frontal lobe. The tension of the track is palpable, with electricity sharply flickering between your speakers as if they were two electromagnetically charged panels, while the menacing industrial-grind sounds like the mechanic clattering of pylons and girders against each other. It's as if one is listening to the internal workings of an abandoned factory, churning away for no reason beyond its own cold and dark logic. --Daniel Gottlieb, Altered Zones
