Though it'll be a while before we see something new from Lightning Bolt, drummer Brian Chippendale has kept busy with his solo project, Black Pus. Playing sans Brian Gibson didn't prevent him from delivering the onslaught of ear-splitters from his latest from Load Records, Primordial Pus, armed with delay pedals, samplers, and his trusty drum kit. The last two minutes of "Hole In The Ground" give a taste of just how hard Chippendale can wail. --Ric Leichtung, Altered Zones
