Neon Marshmallow Fest 2011 keeps on dropping pieces of their fundraiser cassette compilation into The Web. This time around, we've got a magnificent piece of burbling synth bliss from Outer Space, a.k.a. John Elliott from Emeralds. "Draw a Door and Knock Twice ('86 Mix Edit)" simmers for six-and-a-half minutes, steadily increasing in density before receding without any real climax. It's the perfect soundtrack for those miniature tornadoes of airborne seeds that flare up outside my window, though I think it would suit any number of natural world scenes of proliferating life. The festival itself is this coming weekend at the Empty Bottle in Chicago, and Outer Space performs Saturday June 11 along with Pelt, Oneohtrix Point Never, Dylan Ettinger, and many more. --Ian Nelson, Friendship Bracelet
