Gorilla vs. Bear just premiered some visuals for Peaking Lights' "Amazing & Wonderful," a track from the Madison duo's recent 936 LP, which has received no small bit of love in these parts. A series of mock screen tests for the sunglassed personages of Aaron Coyes and Indra Dunis, this video hails from the equally prolific duo of Ben Shearn and Amanda Brown, who have demonstrated a sustained interest in the ways in which sexual and social identity are performed (see their videos for Brown's solo project, LA Vampires, if you need a few examples). What makes Aaron, Aaron, and Indra, Indra? What is the difference between creating an authentic impression of them, and actually being them? And how would you know, if you're only acquainted with them through blog posts such as these? --Emilie Friedlander, Altered Zones
