Whether they are manning the tape decks (Top Tape), setting films to live soundtracks (Cinefamily), or airing one of their in-studio Sprout Sessions, the people behind Los Angeles independent Internet radio station dublab have been providing free-form, off-the-wall programming since 1999. Twice a year, Dublab holds what they call a "Proton Drive." The goal is to raise $20,000 through listener donations, or approximately 40% of the station's annual budget. The drive started last Monday, and will feature DJ sets and performances by the likes of Speculator, Sun Araw, Mia Doi Todd, matthewdavid, SFV Acid, and Diva Dompe before concluding on the morning of May 27th. Some enticing flash packs from Leaving Records, Brainfeeder, Stones Throw, Discotheque Records, and Living Tapes will also be available. Tune your digital dial to dublab to get in on the action, and while you are there, throw some funds their way to keep dublab up and running into the future.
