Montreal's Roger Tellier-Craig, whom you may remember for his guitar work for Fly Pan Am and Godspeed You! Black Emperor, is readying an LP of brightly percolating synth-scapes for Cleveland's Gneiss Things -- run by Steve Hauschildt of Emeralds, who clearly knows the genre pretty well. Self-styled as Le Révélateur (or "the revealer"), Tellier-Craig layers loops, gauzy drones, and pistoning arpeggios. "Bleu Nuit," above, is equal parts statis and forward motion -- though it can feel like we're experiencing both at the same time. --Emilie Friedlander, Altered Zones
