White Fence at Brooklyn's Death By Audio this past Friday was a family affair in more ways than one; frontman Tim Presley (also of Darker my Love) played alongside his brother Sean Paul Presley from Nodzzz and a rhythm section consisting of Jarvis Taveniere and Kevin Morby from Woods, who obviously share the Woodsist affiliation. Is Growing Faith, the band's second full-length on the New York imprint, is the sound of Tim going it alone, texturing his lo-fi jangle-pop diddies with flecks of Paisley, Nuggets neon, and just about every psychedelic moment his home state has ever known. "Get That Heart," below, follows earlier single "Lilian (Won't You Play Drums?)" with something almost verging on Velvet Underground circa Velvet Underground. Loving the simplicity, the restraint, and the burnt veneer. --Emilie Friedlander, Altered Zones
