Despite AyGeeTee's massive amount of output over such a short period, we've only posted a couple of his remixes. But both remixes displayed the London producer's talent for taking the basic elements of a track, and coiling them so tight that it might spring in an unpredictable direction. This unique pull between taut structure and imminent chaos carries over to Mr. Tee's own work on his new Soul LP, which recently dropped on AMDISCS. On opener "Early Colours" (watch above), rhythmic strumming is underwritten by seemingly senseless drum patterns that flutter like a moth in a lamp shade. And on standout track "Birthday Avalanches," the churning synths always seem to escape from being tied to the pulse of the psuedo-tribal drums. It makes for some great listening; at times it's stable and sure, yet also amorphous and slippery. --Daniel Gottlieb, Altered Zones
