Blackhawks: "More Rainbows (Spacemen 3 Cover)"

Like watching a dam burst in slow motion, Blackhawks' cover of Spacemen 3 jam "More Rainbows" starts with with a slow build that's full of frantic energy. This the longest track on their split with Radiator GirlsBlack Girls, and it's nice to see the band flesh out some of their ideas a bit. Whirlwinds of reverbed guitar wrap around you as a slow, pulsing beat carries you along. The split tape is available now on Two Michael Jordans, the imprint lovingly run by Vacation Dad. Homeboy's van got robbed last week and he lost all of his equipment, so if you dig this make sure to grab a copy. It's good for a lot of bands. --Jheri Evans, Get Off The Coast
