Before Matt Weiner was making music in Featureless Ghost, he had his solo project, Twins. Last summer, he layed down a few 4-track jams in his room about his chronic acid reflux, which was "choking me to death," as Weiner recounted. And so from the anguish of being trapped inside a carbon-based body sprung a suite of four songs, each titled "My Body (plus parenthetical distinction)." But this isn't anything all that new; artists have been musing transhumanism for awhile now, but it seems to be coming up over and over lately. Even Pictureplane's twitter info reads "TRANSFORMATION OF THE PHYSICAL;" it's only a matter of time until we're all assimilated by the machines (if we haven't been already).
