Since 2007, Aaron Freeman has been kicking around Southern California making music under Mothers of Gut, a name that evokes '70s freak prog. Mothers is a more psych-kraut affair than anything. Songs from his latest album, Unking, come from the fruits of his "A Song A Day" project where-- you guessed it-- the dude wrote a song every 24 hours. We're used to seeing this type of project from uninspired singer songwriter types, so it's refreshing to see some prolific strokes from someone who doesn't totally suck. --Ric Leichtung, Altered Zones
