We're pretty smitten with Lee Noble's "Fantasy Hair," so we dug a little deeper into No Becoming, his cassette on OMG Vinyl's Sweat Lodge Guru, and discovered even more to love. With its obscured croon and overblown acoustic guitar, "Doesn't Matter What's Right" sounds like it comes from a pretty lonely place. Inspired by the experience of exploring a sewer tunnel behind a friend's house, this video by "Mothers in Favor" (Noble and his pal Geoffrey Sexton) portrays a disoriented Noble roaming a decaying farm property in a post-apocalyptic stupor. In conversation, Noble playfully admitted to us that there's a little bit of (brace yourself) a nu metal vibe in there (gasp!). Korn came to his mind-- and Deftones, to mine-- but Lee assured us that he "just wanted to explore the house, bring a camera, and set off a smoke bomb or three." While it's painful to see Lee embrace a fixture of the nu metal repetoire (the gas mask, yikes!), we'll look the other way. This time. --Ric Leichtung, Altered Zones
