From the slew of bands like Pictureplane, Woodsman, and Gauntlet Hair that've emerged from Denver's Rhinoceropolis scene, Tjutjuna is among the best of the bunch. We named "Mosquito Hawk" one of our favorite songs of last year; now, the band is on the road peddling their tour split with Woodsman, and is set to play Austin Psych Fest 4 alongside The Soft Moon, Spectrum, and Atlas Sound. Their side of the cassette, "Songer Dancer," is an epic electric odyssey that braves new age oceans, psychedelic forests, and deserts of noise. --Ric Leichtung, Altered Zones
