Lumerians, an Oakland five-piece that includes Luis Vasquez of The Soft Moon, just dropped an album full of hypnotic rhythms and Paisely underground flashbacks on Knitting Factory Records. Digging the ecstatic synth pulse on album single "Atlanta Brook," which taps a monotone minimalism similar to that of Burlington's The Vacant Lots, who will be playing alongside them at the Austin Psych Fest this year. As Kenny Bloggins from A Decibel Tolls describes it: pure flower power, minus the reverse echo. --Emilie Friedlander, Altered Zones
