Pacific Pride is a pack of musicians ranging from yacht-pop to psychedelic and experimental, namely Tennis drummer James Barone, Robert Ballentyne from Tjutjuna (who put out one of AZ's favorite songs of 2010), Germaine Baca from Old Time Relijun, with the main songwriting duties taken by Paul Garcia. There are certainly influences of yesteryear from bands like Silver Jews and Pavement. Even the song title "Yankee Soda" looks like a track off American Water, but where Berman/Malkmus remained uniform, Pacific Pride jams out. --Ryan Ellis, Weekly Tape Deck
