Whoa. Leno Lovecraft just exploded a rainbow spectrum of italo disco-funk inside my ears. There isn't a whole lot of information on the 19-year-old producer and avid doodler, but there is no way that he could have been alive to hear anything of this sort; and unless there is a huge fanbase for disco-jazz in New Zealand, it only furthers my statement. I can certainly imagine thisĀ kid jamming on a keyboard with a laser light show in a jungle of love, clove-smoking tigers as a backing band. Leno has a full-length coming out on Maman Records in the future, but you can hear EP#1 in its entirety onĀ SoundCloud in the meantime. --Ryan Ellis, Weekly Tape Deck
