At the astonishingly young age of fourteen Soulja Boy started his own record label, Stacks On Deck. At sixteen he self-released "Crank That," 2007's track that everyone loved to hate despite charting it at number one for two consecutive months. Four years later, it seems that some people have all but forgotten Soulja, an obvious pioneer in the reemergence of popular rap that focuses more on hooks than a message. Last year's The DeAndre Way was an amazing exploration of his persona and an absolutely brilliant record despite being slept on by the media. 1up, the "official mixtape before the [next] album", sees Soulja tapping into his inner gamer and hitting hard on some weirdo vibes. Blaze in 8-bit mode this banger for the fans. --Jheri Evans, Get Off The Coast
