You may know Mi Ami as a high energy noise trio that has been around for a few now. Recently, the bass player split from the band, leaving founding members Damon Palermo and Daniel Martin-McCormick with the chance to reinvent the project. "Dolphins" is more than just a facelift for the band; it's a rebirth. Palermo grooves with a drum machine and an ancient sampler while Martin-McCormick laces the track with chilling keys and even icier vocals. Video mulch extraodinaire Luke Wyatt recently put together this fantastic clip for the track featuring frightening imagery simulating birth, severed limbs, robots and even dolphins melded together via distorted VHS imagery. Martin-McCormick also gave us the drop on its remix under his Ital moniker, giving the track a much more lush, tropical feel. "Dolphins" certainly shows Mi Ami in a new light, and from where I'm sitting it's a nice glow. --Jheri Evans, Get Off The Coast
