Enjoying this acid-rain warped pop smoothie from London's FAMILY, taken from forthcoming second EP FAM002. "Let It Rain" holds on to the sickly 808 shuffle of the group's previous kneeling at the altar of all things purple, but allows a little more light in through the cracks in its bleakness; sparkling, gauzy synth caresses soothing an admittedly pretty bitter sentiment nicely. G Cassavetes' lobotomised croon takes on a weird evangelical nature here that is interesting, bringing to mind a heavily sedated John Maus if he were leaving a hurt answerphone message in sad resignation to a beautiful hip girl in East London and not bellowing heavenwards at some wrong-doing God tormentedly. FAM002 is self-released on April 18th
