Austria's Editions Mego, which brought us Oneohtrix Point Never's Returnal and Emeralds' Does It Look Like I'm Here? last year, recently announced a new imprint by the name of Spectrum Spools, dedicated to “current, past and future electronic music works of the highest quality”. Even if John Elliott of Emeralds/Imaginary Softwoods weren't running the label himself, his forthcoming LP as Outer Space-- the imprint's inaugural release-- would probably be a shoe-in. Ready yourself for the sprawling sounds of Outer Space with "Bad Rubycon Sequent," below. --Daniel Gottlieb, Altered Zones
